Jennifer Plozai

Head External Affairs, NSF Office of Legislative & Public Affairs

Jennifer M. Plozai currently serves the Lead for External Affairs and Media/Public Affairs for the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs at the National Science Foundation. In this capacity, she provides strategic direction for the foundation’s external and media affairs programs and serves as a senior agency spokesperson.

Previously, Ms. Plozai served as Director of External Communications for the Office of Public Affairs at the Transportation Security Administration. She supervised public affairs activities on national and international scales including media relations, strategic communications, web and social media divisions. In addition, Ms. Plozai spearheaded the creation of the AskTSA social care program to provide assistance to travelers on Twitter and Facebook Messenger in real-time 365 days a year.

Ms. Plozai is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from University of Michigan and a master’s degree in policy management from Georgetown University.
